My Story
Born with arthrogryposis, a rare condition affecting joint movement, I faced challenges from day one. Despite the physical limitations, I chose to embrace resilience, turning obstacles into opportunities. My journey took me to East Tennessee State University, where I earned a Bachelor's in Political Science and Psychology and later a Master's in Educational Leadership. Currently, I’m pursuing an MBA at the University of Tennessee, equipping myself with the tools to lead and inspire.
As a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the Department of Human Services, I am in the process of helping over 170 clients work toward achieving their employment goals through personalized rehabilitation plans. My professional experience includes leading DEI initiatives, lobbying for accessibility legislation, and developing comprehensive training programs that foster inclusivity. Certified in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by Cornell, I bring lived experience and expertise to topics of belonging and overcoming adversity.
Today, I combine my personal journey with professional insights to empower individuals and organizations to embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering resilience and meaningful change. Let’s create a world where challenges inspire growth.
